SHUSWAP EMERGENCY DASHBOARD
The Emergency Dashboard Map, a tool of the Shuswap Emergency Program is a regional organization that works to ensure residents are prepared, safe and informed in cases of floods, wildfire, extreme weather and more. It serves the citizens of CSRD Electoral Areas C,D,E,F and G, District of Sicamous and City of Salmon Arm.
Launch the Dashboard for mapped information about evacuation orders, alerts, and location for wildfire or other emergency incidents. Use the search feature to locate your address.
In times of crisis, it is important residents have access to trusted, timely and accurate information to ensure their own safety and that of their family and loved ones. In response to this need, the Columbia Shuswap Regional District, which operates the Shuswap Emergency Program, has chosen Alertable as an emergency notification program.
FIRESMART PROGRAM
The FireSmart program is a national program designed to reduce interface fire risk to communities. In BC, the FireSmart program is administered by the Wildfire Management Branch of the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development.
Residents are becoming coordinators to increase emergency preparedness right in their neighbourhoods.
Emergency plans are an ever-evolving state of readiness and are volunteer, community driven.
